There’s nothing more frustrating than computing a complicated equation on your iPhone calculator (splitting the bill at dinner, anyone?) only to mess up typing a number and have to start over from the beginning. Luckily for all of us, 19-year-old Jazz Johnson has discovered a trick that will make this problem obsolete.
The Baylor University student was searching through the popular forum site Reddit, when he came across a post from user sweetbabyapplepie, according to Buzzfeed. The thread explained there is, in fact, a way to backspace on your iPhone calculator by swiping the numbers in black to the left or right.
Not wanting to keep the information to himself, Johnson quickly made a video to share this genius tip with his Twitter followers.

The post quickly gained attention and currently has nearly 30,000 likes and just over 25,000 retweets. Turns out Johnson wasn’t the only one whose mind was blown by this hidden way to backspace. Users were shocked by the amount of time they had wasted starting their calculations over from scratch until this point.
